My sister who actually isn't related to me at all, but was my "Big" in the sorority we both laugh about now, came to town this weekend. Picture this, Armenian, beautiful, a vocabulary that will cut you like a spartan sword, smarts and wit almost more stunning than her smile and eyes. Jump off me, I'm obsessed with her, if we didn't love men so much - we'd already be married.
To rewind this story just slightly, we met back in 2009. In sorority land she broke every rule possible recruiting me into Family 19, but that's a whole other Oprah. Bottom line, we were meant to be, just not at the time. Butted heads, two strong personalities trying to find our way through the cruel world of socials, boy drama, classes and sorostitute politics. We loved each other even then, but what we've become through the trials and tribulations growing up has thrown our way is something remarkable.
As aforementioned; we both went through a lot in college. To say we ate our problems, and in her case drank some of them as I had my fun drinking my weight in red bull making videos of my sisters, and her, in their intoxicated state as I did not drink at the time. Again, given our daily sushi dates, my job at the local Tropical Smoothie, hibachi addiction and froyo fetish.. To say we gained a freshman 15 would be an astronomical understatement. Now we are two very lucky individuals and didn't just get a fat ass or cottage cheese thighs or teacher arms.. We just got plump. As I mentioned above, she is beautiful. I'm talking head turning, car crash causing, she hears "daaaamn mama" everywhere she goes, beautiful. So even with a few extra pounds she looked great and thus, neither of us had a whole lot of motivation to lose the dreaded college weight we gained until after we left UCF.
Allow me to introduce you to Magen and Sara, in 2013.. After we realized the havoc we had unleashed upon our bodies.
Just kidding! That was us back in 2010! The horror!
Meet Sara, my badass bombshell prepping for the rest of her amazing life!
Sara began her fitness journey in late February, we might as well call it march. So the transformation you just witnessed is only about three months old. Her switch to Paleo with some adjustments I've made to encourage muscle growth (because thank god I was blessed with a best friend and client that are more concerned with looking like a badass fitness freak than a skinny vogue model) has lead to incredible results. With a mixed regimen of CrossFit style training when she comes to visit me, and body building weight training with cardio most women would have laughed in my face over.. The girl is turning into a monster! In the best of ways! Rowing is her new obsession, she makes the treadmill her bitch, ask her to leg press or do some leg extensions and she'll put you, your boyfriend and work out partner to shame.
Her goal is to look even more amazing than she ready does next to me in pictures from my Figure show in August/September, be ready to get down to her goal weight when we move in together in December, and be at her goal weight/look by her birthday in February. She's a trooper, an inspiration and her patience for the changes I make to her diet and work outs are a trainers dream!
Here's to you Big! Losing weight and making gains!
